MyGarden vs Growli
Growli is the closest thing to a direct rival: an AI plant companion with a daily briefing and frost alerts, made by a company that also sells seed boxes. That last part explains a lot about it — it leans towards sowing, and its climate data is UK-first. It is a good app, and it reaches more devices than we currently do.
What Growli does better than us

Where we differ
The individual plant's physics, not a setup category
Growli asks whether you have a windowsill, a balcony or an allotment. We model window orientation and distance, direct sun hours, drafts and heat sources, pot size, material and drainage — for each plant separately.
Approval-based AI
Their chat gives advice. Ours proposes a specific change to your care plan and applies it only when you accept it.
Insect identification and propagation
Both absent from Growli. We identify bugs from a photo, track the treatment, and follow cuttings from parent plant to rooted plant.
Not built to sell you seeds
Growli exists partly to support a seed business, which shapes what it is good at. We make money only when the app is worth paying for.
More languages
Growli is English only. The app already ships in English, Croatian, German, Dutch and French, with the AI replying in your language.
